You and your boy new to Scouting?

If you're a parent new to Scouting, or are considering signing your boy up, please come join us at Wickliffe Presbyterian Church on Thursday evening, September 7. From 6:45 to 8:30 p.m. leaders from our unit will be there to help answer all your questions. Best of all, on that night, you'll get to see what our pack has done over the past couple of years.

We know parents are concerned with costs, commitments, logistics, safety and overall program benefits. Veteran leaders in our unit will be at the church September 7 to fully answer those questions. Cost, especially, are a concern for some parents, but our pack has many ways to make the program affordable through scholarships and camperships for families in need as well as fundraising programs that help a boy earn money towards anything Scouting related (uniforms, outings, special programs, etc.).

It is our goal for every boy and his parents or guardian to be able to enjoy a complete and FUN-FILLED program!

A WORD ON UNIFORMS

We're sure many of you new to Cub Scouting have questions about the uniforms. Our pack committee and leaders encourage all the boys to have a complete Cub Scout uniform, but realize it's not always possible for every family to have the means to provide one. The Uniforming link on this page is an excellent site that explains why uniforms are encouraged.

As a pack, we would hope each boy would have at least:

  • Class 'A' shirt with insignia
  • Neckerchief appropriate to rank
  • Official cap
  • Official web belt

Some of the above items can be purchased at Dunham's Sporting Goods on Euclid Avenue in Willoughby, purchased through our council in Warren (items can be ordered and picked up at monthly Roundtable meetings in Kirtland), or purchased at the Scout Supply Store at the Greater Cleveland Council Service Center at E. 22nd and Woodland in downtown Cleveland.
